Merchandiser/Mystery Shopper (Freelance)
Job Description
To visit hospitality, leisure and retail units in your local area. Checking the sales and service criteria are in line with company standards. After the evaluation, a report is completed detailing what happened during the visit.
Requirements
You preferably have some experience in this field, if not you must be of supervisor/manager caliber and have knowledge of the retail, hospitality or leisure sectors. The ability to be discreet, observant and have a good eye for detail is essential. Own transport would be desirable to visit surrounding areas. Ability to meet deadlines essential, i.e. reports returned within 12 hours of visit.
Essentials
- An e-mail address and regular access to the internet
- Broadband internet connection for typing up online reports
- Microsoft Word for downloading reports and briefing notes.
Rate of Pay
Up to £20.00 per hour per visit. Test purchases are reimbursed, i.e. food and drink for evaluation purposes.
Hours of Work
Variable and flexible. Due to the nature of the job, the number of units per month cannot be guaranteed. There may be months when there are no establishments to visit in your area, other months there may be lots.
Data Protection Act
We fully comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, but note that your details may be passed onto a third party within our company for assignment allocation purposes. The information you supply on your application form will be held securely under this act and will not be divulged to any third party with the exception of our clients, for whom you will be carrying out assignments.
Intellectual Property
The intellectual property and information relating to assignments, i.e. reports and briefing notes, remain confidential and must not be disclosed to a third party. Failure to retain client confidentiality will result in immediate removal from the system. Mystery Shoppers/Merchandisers must also refrain from divulging or sharing commercially sensitive information to anyone other than the Brand Associates UK Team; or via internet forums or consumer discussion boards as this will result in termination of duties.
Conduct
Whilst undertaking assignments for Brand Associates UK, all shoppers should behave in a courteous and professional manner. If any shopper does not fulfill this obligation they will be removed from the system.
Personal Liabilities
Brand Associates UK is not liable for any accidents, injuries, legal liabilities, losses or damage to goods, vehicles or of a personal nature before, during or after carrying out an assignment.
Declaration
By submitting our Application Form you will be agreeing that you are not personally employed by Market Research Companies – other than interviewing and mystery shopping for them on a freelance basis. That you are eligible to work in the UK, have your own bank account and National Insurance Number and that you will provide MCE in order to receive fees for your assignments.
